  • FLXIBLE METRO (1993)
  • HSR 8251 was a one-of-a-kind bus for Hamilton and was a Flxible Metro purchased used from COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority) in Columbus, Ohio. In Columbus, it was # 8165.

The HSR was experimenting with different ideas to resolve a bus shortage in the mid 1990s. Due to new government regulations transit systems could only order new low-floor buses and, since the order of new low-floor buses from Orion Industries were delayed, the HSR had to seek out alternate options.

The one and only bus was purchased in 1993 and completely refurbished. It entered service in 1994 and lasted until 1999 when the order of Orion VI buses finally arrived.
