This model of bus was first delivered by New Flyer Industries and put into operation by the HSR in 2007. A total of seven coaches were ordered. Powered by diesel-electric hybrid technology, these buses were the first Hybrid coaches ordered by the HSR along with the New Flyer DE41LF. The DE60LFR is also the first 'articulated' bus operated by the HSR since the 1982 GM TA60-102N coaches, which have been retired.
