ORION VI (1999)
The Orion VI (or Orion 06.501) was delivered by Orion Bus Industries and put into operation by the HSR in 1999, ten years after its predecessor. A total of twenty-five coaches were ordered. These coaches are the next in line and a low floor version of the Orion V (05.501) series ordered from 1989 - 1992 by the HSR. The Orion VI is a low floor bus, 40 feet long and 102 inches wide. All twenty-five coaches ordered by the HSR are powered by Clean Natural Gas. This model of bus has been discontinued by Orion Bus Industries, replaced by the new Orion VII (07.501) series. This new model has not been ordered by the HSR as all orders since 2002 have been from New Flyer Industries.
