• 13 WENTWORTH / 15 SHERMAN - ROUTE PROPOSAL

    There are currently no routes serving the north-south corridor in lower Hamilton in the areas between John St in the west and Gage Ave in the east. The distance the route would travel from its north most point to the southern most is equivilant to that on the escarpment from Concession St to south of Mohawk Rd.

    The proposed route structure would make use of the one-way street system in the lower city and criss-cross east and west across the city from north to south and back again. Seperate route numbers would be insituted to distinguish direction of route travel either east or west, as with the one-way streets the route would share directionality on the majority of the streets regardless of heading to the east or west loop point.

    Route 13 Wentworth would be the route designation used for travel westbound. The route would start at a loop point at Gage Ave & Burlington St. It would then travel south on Gage and turn west on Cumberland Ave. The route would travel on Cumberland until Sherman Ave, where it would turn right heading north on Sherman. The route would continue north on Sherman until reaching Burlington St, where it would turn left heading west. The route would then turn left, heading south, on Wentworth and continue until reaching Stinson St. The bus would then head west on Stinson until arriving at Victoria St, where it would then turn right heading north again. The coach would continue north until it reached Burlington St again, where it would turn left heading west and then another left south on Wellington St. The bus would then arrive at the loop at Wellington and Stinston streets.
